On the campus of Brecon Village, the Memory Support Center encompasses various levels of service with living spaces designed with innovative technologies to support the resident and their loved ones through the many stages of memory loss. It is surrounded by gardens and courtyards that provide a calm, relaxing setting for residents.

Cottage homes and private suite options offer a safe and secure living environment, utilizing innovative technologies and trained caregivers. The community offers a chapel and reflection room, gathering spaces for art and cultural events, a fitness center, spa, library, resource center, and kitchens designed to encourage residents to assist with meal preparation in order to enhance their dining and living experiences.

From its inception, the Memory Support Center (MSC) at Brecon Village was designed and built to meet the complex and unique needs of the memory impaired resident. Often those living with memory loss experience confusion, anxiety and fear. To address those challenges, the MSC features a low ratio of caregivers to residents who have all been trained extensively in the world recognized Best Friends™ approach. This approach takes advantage of the small household layout of the building, dedicated staffing, and unobtrusive technological monitoring system to ease resident’s tension and anxiety. In addition, the MSC is the only free standing facility dedicated to memory impaired residents that can also provide the full continuum of services from adult day to skilled nursing at nearby .

What sets The Memory Support Center apart?

Lisa Skelton’s mother was a resident of the Memory Support Center. In this video, Lisa talks about her experience with the program and the dedicated men and woman who cared for her mother.

The Memory Support Center works to bring meaning and life in every client’s day. This is done in numerous ways through a variety of programs.  Once such program is a partnership with the University of Michigan Stamps School of Art and Design whose students work with our clients to create moments of joy and meaning.
